Review: good basic fanny pack that is light & durable, nice silhouette, hands free walks & shopping - Nice pouch! I walk or hike nearly daily. I carry my phone, keys, and a couple do-dads. Not a lot, but enough where a pocket (if they exist) on womens clothing just wont do. Was fine for winter walks where a jacket may have a deeper pocket, but nothing else. Now that the temps are warming up, and eventually I wont need any sort of jacket, I need to be able to carry my stuff. I dont want to carry it in hand, and I also dont like the feel of a cross body bag bouncing around as I walk. I decided to go with a fanny pack. I bought 2 from JanSport. Black and the lilac color. The size looked good, and the length seemed like it would accommodate my larger frame. I'm 5'10", 235#, 16/18, 36" waist, 49" hips (got a fat apron). I wear this low on my waist. The strap has plenty of length with room to spare. Fairly easy to adjust. Lightweight but feels durable. Not too big, not too small. I didnt want anything big. Just enough to carry my pixel phone (in a wallet case), and the very few other things I may want. Sometimes I wear it to the front, sometimes to the back. I dont bother to wear it like a cross body. I dont think I would like the feel of it positioned so high on my body, For that it needs a longer strap, and I have plenty of cross body bags anyway. It is very comfortable and I love being hands free as I walk. I like it so much I have begun using it as a daily carry. It is nice to grocery shop with nothing hanging off my shoulder, and as much as I love a cross body bag to alleviate this, the fanny pack is even better. It reduces the sensory greatly. I just want to emphasize that this is not a big bulky bag, nor is it super slim. It is truly a good size for use as an old school fanny pack. I like the shape, and it gently tapers at the edges. That gives a better body silhouette than something that is boxy or too big.

I love that the material used is very tough and woven coarsely and has stood up to lots of abuse so far. The zippers are very sturdy and strong as well, havent had a single issue with them whatsoever. Although the material looks like it couldnt survive a rainstorm, on a few occasions (mostly boating) it has gotten water dumped on it without getting a drop on the inside. Im still weary of getting water on it and Im not exactly sure how water resistant this bag is, but it has impressed me so far. The only cons about this bag is the size and comfort. This bag is a perfect size for me, but is smaller than most waist style bags Ive seen and worn. The comfort is great, it fits and conforms to my body very securely regardless of how I wear it, but on hot days I will get sweaty underneath it pretty quick and there isnt any padding on the back of the bag. It would be worlds more comfortable if there was, for example, a thin foam cushion and mesh on the back, but the bag is still very comfortable if you dont cram it with too much stuff. Overall, this is the best waist pack ive had so far, it is extremely sturdy and very practical. Would definitely reccomend.
