## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it work with Rocksmith?**
A: With Rocksmith for PC 2014, the game tells you the guitar isn't loud enough. My other guitar has a 9V battery for the pickup and it works well with Rocksmith. I am not sure if maybe you can boost the signal before plugging into the game.

**Q: Can you put a strap on this guitar?**
A: Tying a strap to the neck looks dorky and makes it hard to get the strap on and off. For about 75 cents US, you can go to your local music store and buy a "strap button" -- a little hourglass-shaped piece of metal with a hole through the middle. Just screw the strap button to the guitar and TA-DAA! That's it, you're strapped!Example: http://www.amazon.com/Jim-Dunlop-Strap-Button-Single/dp/B000X31R2EThe goal here is to attach the strap button to the center of the "heel" of the guitar (the heel is the part of the back of the neck where the wood swoops down to join the back of the body; Google has some pictures of it). Nowadays I use a drill to make a starter hole for the screw, but if you're lacking power tools and fairly patient, you can just use the screw itself to drill its own screwhole, as follows...DIY INSTRUCTIONS: Position the point of the screw touching the center of the heel where you want to start the hole, then hold the screw there with one hand and use the other hand to turn the screw clockwise with firm pressure, so the threads of the screw drill themselves into the wood. (You may need pliers or tape etc to hold the screw in the right place at the right angle until you get it going. Also a screwdriver DUH.) Drive the screw in about halfway then unscrew it and take it out, then use that same hole to screw the strap button to the guitar, driving the screw all the way in this time so it holds the button snugly onto the wood. This was how I attached the strap button to my first acoustic guitar in 1981 and to many many others in between.(I admit I put a few scratches on the heel of my first guitar from the screw tip slipping around before I got it started in -- and before I discovered pliers & tape -- but nobody ever saw that part of the guitar anyway.) (I suppose you could also just have them install the button at the place where you buy it, but stuff like that never occurred to me as a kid.)Strap buttons usually come with the screw included, but if yours doesn't, find a wood screw skinny enough to go through the hole in the button but with a head big enough to stop it from going all the way through, at least 1 inch long and I usually go at least 1.5 inches. As long as you're close to the fat middle of the heel and use a thin screw, you won't split the wood or anything, and the guitar should hang fine around your neck. And strange as it sounds, you'll feel closer to your guitar afterward, knowing you mutilated it yourself. I did, anyway. But whether you install it yourself or have it done for you, don't be a dweeb -- forget them silly knots and get you a strap button!.

**Q: Why does it say acoustic electric can you plug it up to an amp**
A: Yes, it comes with a cord which allows you to plug into an amp (if you want to) it sounds very good too. This guitar is the sweetest value you will find, I have not read one bad review out of many, I always tell everyone that I can't believe the whole package was less than $100.

**Q: How often do you have to tune this guitar? Does it stay in tune well? How is the sound quality, as I can see its body is not as big as other guitars?**
A: This guitar stays in tune pretty good, I tune it once every time I play it, I do not have to tune it anymore after that. If you buy one of those SNARK clip-on tuners it is real easy to tune, less than $10.00. I did check and tighten any loose small screws on the tuning keys. I love the thin body of this guitar and it is plenty loud, more than you would think. There are many top name guitar builders making them now. The tone is pretty good too, as with any guitar, if you hear any rattles or buzzing, check for something loose on the guitar or you may need to adjust the truss rod on this guitar with the allen wrench that is provided. If you have an amplifier, plug it in, the guitar sounds pretty good that way too!! This guitar is one of the best bargains a person will ever find for under $100.00, a better one will cost you three times that much and there is really nothing wrong with this one.

Killer First Guitar....for Beginners and Experts too.

*by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2015*

Well, here I sit with sore fingers after yet another session with this beauty. This is a fantastic guitar at a great price. It looks great, and the thinline body makes it easy to get to the strings...it's just closer to your body. The stock strings are decent, but I put some D'Addario EJ17 (medium gauge) on the guitar and it sounds amazing. Strings make a heyooge difference. I invested in a Super Snark electronic tuner and it's an easy and fun way to get a guitar in-tune quickly. I went down to .012 D'Addario Phosphor Bronze strings and this thing really sings with these strings. I tried 80/20 (that's 80% percent Bronze to Zinc) and I thought the guitar was too bright with these.Because of the woods used; Nato wood for the body (a less-expensive Eastern Mahogany) with Spruce top and Rosewood fingerboard, the guitar projects very well...surprisingly so. It's not a full Dreadnought body, but it plays almost like one to my ears...and I'm a big fan of that Martin sound. I also compared this to a Simon and Patrick Woodland Spruce, and it holds up well. It's amazing that they avoided laminate in a guitar this inexpensive, assuming the Nato body isn't laminate. The action is pretty good, and the strings aren't overly far from the neck, though some people have shaved down the bridge for a little easier action. Any good luthier can set this guitar up for you, or if you're the daring type you can do this yourself. Some have mentioned improving the pickup with a EQ 505R Pickup, which I may very well do myself.I haven't tried the guitar in an amp yet, but acoustic amps are expensive! So far I like the Fishman Loudbox Artist, since it has real control over guitar and mic (in the same amp) and has a headphone jack. Yes. Headphone jack! This is a must when you live in an apartment or as I do, a townhome with shared walls. This is an amazing value. I'm just a casual beginner guitarist getting back to guitar after decades playing other instruments. This guitar is gorgeous in appearance and it's quite easy to play, even for people with smaller hands like me. My guitar playing has really improved....and it's all because this instrument was both affordable and great quality that my interest in guitar-playing (and skill) has reached a new level. I'd happily buy another one if something happened to this one, and can heartily recommend it.5 Stars!

    Wonderful Surprise

*by C***Y on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2013*

Just to qualify, I have played guitar for almost 40 years and am an advanced player. I have lots of expensive guitars and, in fact, that's the very reason I bought this - it was inexpensive and something I could take on the go without having to worry about it being broken, stolen, scratched, or whatever. Plus, it had a pickup. All the reviews seemed fairly positive and I knew I could make adjustments, even major ones if necessary, as I have done much guitar repair in the past. So I got it while it was on sale.I received it today in good condition and was very impressed with the quality and workmanship. I tuned it up and played right away. The playability is excellent. It's good for any price, but it's ESPECIALLY good for the price paid. No adjustments are really necessary (although I may lower the saddle just a bit to suit my style.) The intonation is excellent (very important for beginning guitar players learning.) The tuners are very smooth. The neck feels substantial but not too fat.Probably strong, which will make it durable and lasting. The pickup works well enough ( I haven't done any recording yet with it, but I probably will.)Man, what I wouldn't have done to have a guitar like this when I was learning! "Beginning" guitars were generally horrible back then, but this one is quite the opposite. No, it isn't fancy wood, but it's wood, and the thing plays very nicely. At the sale price (79.00 for me) I recommend this purchase for any beginner (or someone like me who wants a "camping" guitar. I can't even believe the price for what it is. At retail (~300.00,) it would be "OK," but there may be some other beginning guitars that may have a richer sound (believe me, I have NO complaints about this instrument - I'm just trying to make a complete review as I see it.) But for the $80-150.00 range, this simply can't be beat. It's a steal. It came with a gig bag, a few picks, a 1/4" cable, and a neck adjustment tool (which I did not need as of yet.) Keep in mind, guitars are wood and some MAY need an adjustment. That's normal.I am very pleased.
