This hat is distressed, which I like as did my daughter, but there are intentional rips and snags throughout. The hat is unstructured and made of a soft material making it very comfortable to wear. The pony tail hole is convenient as well.I will note regarding the overall size, that this hat is a bit smaller overall than the adult/mens hat that I purchased at the same time from a different manufacturer but look similar. I mention this not as a negative, but a positive if you are one that is thinking about buying this hat for a child or a smaller adult and were worried about it being too large. I have attached some pics. I believe this hat is cotton so I would expect it to shrink in the dryer after a wash. Same with the other adult hat I bought so that may be a consideration for someone wanting to buy that hat -- or a similar hat -- it may shrink to fit.Purchase price was around ten dollars so I believe it is a good value.
