Furthermore, Korean pressure rice cookers cook at a higher pressure and higher temperature than other pressure cookers such as Instant Pot. That's the reason most Korean households primarily use pressure rice cookers. On the other hand, pressure rice cookers are non-existent in Japan. So, if you prefer your medium grain or short grain rice cooked in Japanese style, this is not for you. I bought this to replace one that is about 15 years old. The voice thingy has become very talkative. It used to only say what's necessary, but now it just keeps on talking. It's good that one can turn it off. The font/words for the buttons are very light, which makes them very difficult to see. Compared to 15 years ago, the options to tweak the cooking parameters is much easier, such as keep warm temperature, degree of browning on the bottom, change language and the volume and some other functions. I don't really see anyone would need to deviate from the default program, but if you want, there they are. Also, because of voice instructions, it's easy to personalize the rice cooker. Other than that, it's a Cuckoo rice cooker. Some complain that it's too big. Yes, it is little bigger than the Japanese brands. But one needs to remember that this is a pressure cooker, which means it gets hotter, so there should be more insulation material between the outer wall and the cooking pot. Also, the primary target market is Korea, where the rice cooker sits on the kitchen counter and is never put away. So, storage convenience was not really on their mind when the designed them. If you want a Korean rice cooker, Cuckoo is the one to get.
