Furnace water was collected in a pan and emptied twice a day. After reading comments from happy customers and customers answering my questions, the KT-3 1UL Hartell pump will solve this problem. I have not yet connected the pump (waiting for the colder months). The pump has a float and will turn on/off when required. The pump tank holds three quarts. The pump was ordered with 100 feet of clear tubing and received in perfect condition with all paperwork. After the pump is connected this review will be updated.(UPDATE - 12/03/13) The pump has been connected for a few weeks, the gas furnace condensation drain hose was diverted to the pump and it is working perfectly. It runs quietly for about 5 seconds pumping water to the washer drain. 3/8 clear tubing was connected to the pump male check valve fitting and run up and across the unfinished ceiling about 8' height, held in place with plastic ties to the washer drain. This solves the problem, a great little pump requiring very low voltage a grounded 25' extension cord is powering the pump. Thank you to all the good folks posting informative and helpful data about this pump. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ KT-3-1UL Hartell Pump *by K***K on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 30, 2013* I bought this unit to pump condesate water from my older 55000 btu furnace/ac system to the outside. The system is located in the basement about 20 feet from the outside wall. I ran flexible clear plastic tubing from near the bottom of the furnace where I mounted the pump, up to the overhead floor joices, 20 feet across, and then down another 8 feet to the floor drain, for a total of about 36 feet. I ran a short piece of tubing from the evaporator coil condensate pan into the pump resevior. The pump plugs into a nearby 115vac receptacle and the pump is activated by an internal float and automatically pumps the condensate to the drain. This pump has been in service for 2 years now. I looked up several consumer reviews before purchasing the Hartwell unit and actually looked at this pump in a local hardward store, but it was considerably cheaper at Amazon. The pump has never failed to operate properly and easily discharges all the water thoughout the length of the plumbing, no problem I not only highly recommend this unit, but would buy another should I ever have a similar requirement. This is a high quality durable unit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good pump, bad switch, but best warranty. *by K***9 on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 6, 2015* Bought this to replace my 6yr old KT-3-1XUL model. I had already got a replacement switch covered under warranty after the first float/motor switch failed after about 18 months of us. This switch lasted about 4.5 years, but at a new switch is $33 or just buy a brand new pump and get a 3 year warranty. I suggest after 2yrs call to get an extra switch under warranty to extend the life of the pump. This pump is great until the switch fails and it overflows leaving a puddle for you to clean up.
