## Overview

The Quantum 2.0 by Prism Kite Technology is a premium 7-foot dual-line stunt kite engineered with a lightweight aerospace carbon fiber frame and reinforced design for durability. Featuring an improved wing shape for superior tracking, a spine shock absorber system, and quick bridle adjustment, it offers exceptional stability and precision in light to medium winds. Equipped with low-stretch Dyneema flying lines and complete with flight straps and a travel sleeve, it’s designed for both beginners and advanced flyers seeking high-performance, long-lasting fun.

## Description

The ultimate choice for first-time pilots, the Quantum's 7-foot wingspan is big enough for serious pull and excitement and extra-stable to make learning a snap. Pilots who start with the Quantum get hooked on sport kiting fast and never look back. Its impressive full-sized wing is engineered from ripstop nylon and Mylar laminates with Kevlar reinforcements for a long life. In a breeze it'll pull hard enough for a real adrenaline rush. A built-in shock absorber in the tail handles unplanned landings and lets you hand your kite to beginners with confidence. Once you've learned the basics, its balance and stability make it great for learning tricks and more advanced aerobatics. Ready-to-fly package includes high performance, low-stretch Dyneema lines, winder, flight straps, and travel case with easy instructions printed on the sleeve. For the new version 2.0 we’ve tweaked the wing shape to give it even better tracking and additional stability, making it easier to keep aloft in light winds without pro-level skills. 2.0 includes a subtle change to the bridle geometry and a quick, one-step bridle adjustment at the center T so it’s a cinch to set your kite for different winds. We’ve upgraded the 2.0 sleeve to a new design that lets you roll it up and clip to a belt loop while you fly. An external pouch for your lineset keeps it from getting tangled and a hidden extension sleeve pops out if you want to store your kite full-length without folding the leading edges. Ready to replace a well-loved older Quantum? The Quantum 2.0 keeps the same frame geometry, carbon rods and fittings so it’s backward compatible – no new spare parts needed! Beautifully crafted by the kite experts at Prism Designs. With over 25 years in flight, we’re committed to sharing the joy of kites with exquisitely designed, long-lasting products and all the info and support you need to have a blast in the wind.

Review: Pricey but worth it, if you are half way serious. - You get what you pay for. Admittedly, $140+ is a bit pricey for a kite, but Prism has long been known to be one of the best. I was looking for a large span kite that could handle lower wind (4mph approx,) but needed sturdiness for those occasions when we have high wind (10-15mph+) or we're travelling and get lucky enough to be coastal. I selected another no-name 'butterfly' type pattern dual line kite, with a very large wing span (biggest I could find), and it was just under $60. So how does a $60 kite compare to a $150 kite? Let's start with the materials. The spars/spreaders on the prism are beautiful. Stiff, but great flex, and most importantly, LIGHTWEIGHT. The cheaper no-name kite has these odd spars, that are effectively, but have a strange texture that's hard to describe, not smooth. Weight wise, not TOO bad either. The Bridle lines--Prism, hands down, has a superior bridle. The lines are thinner and lighter but stronger too! You want thin, for less wind resistance, and of course, we know why we want light weight. The knockoff kite uses a poly blend line that's about about thick as angel hair pasta, pretty thick, and absorbant. The kite body main material: Prism is beautifully made/printed, and finished. Seams are tight and clean, no loose threads. The knockoff stuff was ripstop also, but much heavier and thicker. The whiskers (those are the parts that use the lower spreader and a short length of rod to keep the kite stretched and to shape) on the knock off kite are poorly made and poorly cut pieces of fiberglass rod, not even any type of protectors. The Prism's whiskers are exactly what you'd expect of a high end kite, properly protected, thin but strong, and they sit into nice connectors. Even the storage case for the prism is superior, allowing you to stash the kite without having to break down the long leading edges. The knockoff kite has a storage sack too, but you will have to completely disassemble the kite to get it to fit. With the prism, if you DO want to totally disassemble, you can, and the case can be shortened to fit snugly. Fine engineering! The supplied lines are also miles apart in quality. The prism lines are very thing and have super low stretch. They zip through the wind like a hot knife through butter. The knockoff kite uses, again, thick poly blend that stretches a little more, but are notably HEAVY. The handles supplied are not that remarkably amazing for either kite. When it comes to flight though, that's where all these little individual differences pay off HUGE with the Prism. Talk about quiet! I was impressed at how quiet the Prism was---almost never a flutter. When you hear the flutter on the other kite, in even a gentle breeze, you know your drag is super high, and that you're losing energy because of it. This means a slower and less responsive kite. Just night and day between these two. Worth the difference in price? Well, that depends on YOU. Prism is simply the best of these. In the dual line stunt kite category, you have to really start making your own with the best of the best components to compete. If you're a beginner and don't have a ton of experience, maybe go the cheaper route just to test the water to see if you'd like to get more into it. But, if you are an experienced stunt kite flyer, it's a no brainer. So simple and easy, the Prism Quantum is a winner!
Review: Prism, you’ve done it again! - Prisms mid the high-level kites are some of the best kites in industry. I have yet to buy a kite in that category that has not brought me joy or excitement will fly kites. I have traveled all across the US have been to all coastline in America and kites at everyone of those locations. One of the prison kites has always followed me around and when I was showing off a little bit, I let go of the kite, the wins and the up drafts to get out the sea. So I bought this kite and considering the price of this kite is half the price of the kite I was flying Flew better and tricks easy to get on its back easy for side to side tricks. This kite is just fun to fly. It’s like Therapy for The kite people. It could be soft and slow winds that are steady and can also perform tricks in the medium wins that a lot of kites can’t. 20 mph 25 mph winds this kite is a monster it precisely maneuvers with the lightest touch on the handles. The can also be gentle for those point of point landings and soft reelable landings. I have water this four times and been very successful. Don’t worry by the time I hit the ground. It was dry so if you’re looking for a kite that you can learn on this , just barely a good kite for the beginner and if you’re an intermediate flyer can take you to the next level. Great training for experienced. In fact the last competition I went to I saw a lot of these kites being beautifully operated in the competition. I would definitely recommend this kite to others both beginners to experts

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What size is the package? Thanks in advance.**
A: It's long about 4-5 feet, or about 120cm. The kite comes in a bag. Its a great kite but needs good winds in order to fly correctly... Try the d prism snapshot that's also a lot of fun

**Q: I plan on flying the kite over 2,000 ft high could it handle such altitudes?**
A: No. A stunt kite will not. The lines even a quarter that long would have so much stretch, the kite would very uncontrollable and nose dive before you can get it up.

**Q: quatium kite 84 INCH , the small adafter piece corrects bottom speaders broke, were can i get**
A: you can got to prismkites.com and order specific pieces to all of their kites

**Q: Does this kite come with a tail?**
A: I bought mine a few years ago and I don’t remember it coming with a tail. However, prism’s website has them for decent prices. Or you can find them on amazon and through other retailers. I can tell you that this kite is AMAZING! With or without a tail this kite is top notch.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing piece of engineering!
*by D***S on February 15, 2011*

First of all I have to start off by saying that the build quality of this kite is just amazing. A lot of attention has been paid to intricate details, that's for sure. Being a beginner in this stunt kite business, I found it a bit hard to fly at low winds (even using the light wind line setup), probably due to the weight of the kite. Although I do not doubt the fact that an experienced flyer will have no problem flying this kite at 3MPH winds as advertised. Once the wind kicks in, it becomes one hell of an exciting kite, generating a lot of pull while still staying controllably slow enough for a beginner like myself. Keeping in mind that I am using the "forgiving" line set up, I am pretty sure that this kite is completely trickable in its "radical" setup. This kite is built pretty solidly too & will take a lot of abuse with no damage as I have experienced first hand after a few hard crashes on my first couple of flights. I know that it is a bit more expensive than most beginner stunt kites out there but after a lot of research & personal experience, I can say that it is worth every penny.
