The chip is a little smaller than the size of a pea. It does not go all the way through the laminate surface but still there should not be any chips in the surface. Other than that defect I am completely thrilled with this table. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be. I was nervous to order it without seeing it. I was hoping it would be exactly like the tables found in public schools and it is exactly that. It’s amazing quality other than the chip. It will be perfect for homeschooling my children. I have 3 children and will probably have a 4th. We will have no problems using this table together. Perfect size for school work and arts and crafts. Love the grey speckled top. I saw the other review that had an issue with one of the legs and it made me nervous to order. My legs seem fine but mine does have a chip in the top. They need to have better quality control because the product is amazing otherwise. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Solid desk, expect dings *by T***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2019* Pros: It's a super solid looking and feeling desk. This thing will last a REALLY long time. The veneer looks great, and almost always looks clean.Cons: The wood veneer has a big chunk missing at the corner. Thankfully it's at the bottom where I'll probably never see it. The top of the table itself had several dings in it as well. These were not shipping related, as the package was still mostly intact. Additionally, it took an entire month from purchase to delivery. I understand that this was probably their busy time (start of school), but I didn't get any updates until I called a couple of times.The dings on the desk don't bother me enough for me to spend money to ship the desk back and then wait another month for replacement.
