You take turns exploring new tiles by pulling a random one from the bag and deciding which side to place down. Since the tiles are two sided, and there are three energies, this lends deep strategy as to what to place and where to place it. Players don't know which energy will be the winning energy, so everyone must consider several move ahead to be prepared for any shifts in power.The game plays best with two or three, but the "solo rules" are nothing more than one player playing two sides with one side's movements decided via a random bag. Not a true solo version; I would have love to see more of a set challenge rather than a shadow player.Overall, VERY good game for the price and the unique indie-aspect deserves a spot on any serious game shelf.NOTE: The always excellent "Watch It Played" video series was invaluable when learning this game.
