The remote control is intuitive and has a pretty decent range. We managed to run a pretty wild outdoor track and it performed well. Any child who has played any sort of video game console will take to this controller with ease. Battery life is 'good'. We charged up the battery as we looked over the car and check out the supplied information. Since the car is small, we ran it round the kitchen and living room for about 10 minutes to get a feel for how the controls worked and then we headed outside for another 30 minutes or so. While not exactly a monster car, it covered a lot of uneven territory in quick order and we headed back to charge up the battery. Battery charge wait time is about what you might expect, about 1.5-2 hours. Charging fast would IMO cause the battery to heat up and heat is the #1 enemy of a battery. I cringed the first time, but it hits on the tires or the soft body work and doesn't damage the wall or the car. We got around 20-30 minutes of play with each battery pack and they give you two, so it's easy to swap out a battery and get pack to playing! The remote could use some more fine control over speed. For our 3 year old grandson it's basically top speed or stopped. He doesn't have the fine motor control to only push the joystick forward a little. That will come with time for him, but it would make a better child's toy if a child could easily and gradually increase and decrease speed. Nonetheless, at this price for a remote control car that goes forward, reverse, left and right, I consider it a pretty good deal.
