I use them in different parts of the house. One is downstairs, one is in the master bedroom and one is outside. **Q: Is this sensor waterproof? Or do I need to shelter and protect it if placed outside?** A: It is waterproof, although the instructions suggest you put it under something like an overhang or under a tree just so any direct sun exposure doesn't throw off the readings. I've had mine hanging from a branch under a pine tree for over a year without any problems. **Q: Sensor stopped working when I placed it outside. Seems it is not water proof ? What is the warranty on this ?** A: Operator error. It is not waterproof. The literature never claimed that it was. The sensor needs to be placed under an eave or some cover to keep it out of the rain. I have it under an eave an it works perfectly. **Q: How do I remove the cover of the remote sensor?
