I chose the taller back seats (HIGH) because I placed them in the boat to replace a bench seat that fell apart due to age, if yours are going on a pedestal you probably will want the shorter back seats to make it easier to move around if your fishing. I chose these for a smaller bass boat. The seats I have currently in the boat are huge with high backs. Too high, and I can’t arch back in them. They just push me forward. These are just the right size I was looking for. The bottoms are not big, but they fit perfect on my skinny self. The top of the Back part touches bottom of my shoulder blades, so I can arch backwards. The seats are also much thicker than I guessed. Perfect for me on the density aspect. Very similar to the original seats that came in my boat on the foam density and vinyl. I wanted seats with lower backs that I could fold down to create more space. With these, I can store a net behind the seats. For smaller boats tight on space, these are nice. Usable for either in the cockpit area, or on the decks with pedestals. Better looking in person than the pictures. The thickness before sitting on them is 4.5 inches, which is exactly the same as my original seats. From the bottom of the base to the top of the backs is 19 inches. If you’re looking for a smaller seat without crazy high backs, check these out. They have the appearance and feel of smaller, custom seats. They seem to match the boat pretty well. The base has a lot of screw points, but, none that matched the existing hinges. I removed the hinges from boat and mounted them to the seats, drilled holes in the hinges to match the seat base, then drilled pilot holes in the boat to. match the hinges. Now I can flip the seats down to access the storage underneath. Well constructed - not as comfortable as a puffy $150 seat, but plenty comfortable enough while getting from the dock to the fishing spots.
