I wanted to buy a decent triball hitch for my truck so naturally buying a USA made one would seem like the obvious choice. Good old Reese hitches and their affiliates are made in Mexico now. So I started looking at Curt ball mounts to match my USA made Curt hitch. However some of Curt ball mounts are actually made in China. Yes! I said Curt products made in China. Go to Wally World some day and check them out........So i ran across Buyers products and their hitches which are made in Mentor Ohio. The E-Trailer site can confirm that for you. So I figured a Buyers triball hitch was gonna be my best bet at obtaining a triball that was surely made in the USA. Plus the Buyers triball had a 1-7/8" ball on it that was rated at 6000lbs! So it had to be USA made with that kind of rating! Even better was that Amazon Prime had the best prices anywhere for a Buyers triball hitch! What could go wrong?!So after ordering my Buyers triball hitch, i receive it in the mail today and it looks and feels like good quality with alot of heft to it. The welds are beautiful and everything looks great on it. So i start looking for pictures of anyone else using this hitch and what they were pulling with it. After looking at a bunch of photos and doing some in depth reading, come to find out the Buyers triball hitch is totally made in China! I am totally ticked off!! You don't have to buy trailer hitch ball mounts very often but when you do, you definitely want to buy a USA made one which I thought I was getting. Finding a USA made triball mount is getting too few and far between.I'm sure this Chinese made Buyers triball mount will work well. I took a photo of the inside of the mount so you can see what you are buying. It's well made and seems to be real heavy duty. However finding out that it's made in China drops my star rating down to 3.Conclusion--- Chinese made welded triball mount seems very well made and pretty heavy duty. I can see why the 1-7/8" ball is rated at 6000lb. It's got a low price tag on it and I'm sure this thing will last forever. Don't be fooled by USA companies that call their products "USA made".
