This is cheap crap better befitting a knock-off product than the Scotch brand. The tape is sticking to itself so well that it basically shreds itself on the spool and I have to find the end and start a new strip to pull, which is a pain in the butt. If I hadn’t bought a six-pack I’d just throw the spool out and buy a different brand, but now I feel stuck with an inferior product. Come to think of it, I may have to return it. While the tape works as advertised when you’re not having spooling issues, it’s not worth the hassle to keep.

I would have given this an "I LOVE IT", just a few months ago, but now I do have a little complaint… I bought this because I was attaching photos to display boards with it. I was very happy with the ease of use and strength. Then a couple of months ago the owner of the display boards with taped-on photos decided to put some boards into empty store windows in his town for publicity… and the photos STARTED FALLING OFF! Now I'd have to say this tape works GREAT, in a regular home temperature-regulated environment, but not in a place where it can get HOT (100 - 110 degrees, California summer). Someone else redid the downed photos with glue and they're holding fast to the boards...

It costs about a little less than $18 for six rolls of double-sided tape on their own individual dispensers. The roll of tape wastes about three inches of double-sided tape at the beginning of each roll on every dispenser by covering the roll with a layer of thick plastic that is very difficult to separate. After that the roll is easy to dispense.The adhesion is not gorilla tape-like. You can remove and tape it again elsewhere. This maybe convenient for some aspects of what you want to stick on the wall, but if you expect it to stay there strong, this is not the tape you’re looking for.This tape can hold printer paper and business cards up, but it cannot hold together card stalk paper, or heavier and thicker paper.Overall, it works for the arts and crafts of scraps of thin tissue paper. The tape sticks to paper, walls, glass, and metal; bumpy walls like stucco and carpet, adhesion does not work so well. The smoother the surface, the better it sticks to. If the surface is uneven or rough, the area of adhesion has less points of contact, the tape will slowly slide off of its surface.

I love most scotch products, and in fact I've ordered multiple cases of this particular scotch tape- but I'm starting to have a big issue with it regarding the plastic dispenser. Again, the actual tape is fine, but the plastic dispensers that hold the tape really suck! They need to be much sharper...They start off somewhat sharp and the tape rips right off, but then mid roll, the plastic gets all out of whack and looses sharpness, and then you have to jerk the tape around to get it to rip off! By this point, your piece of tape has an uneven and clumped end, which really sucks. I really hope they improve the quality of these tape dispensers asap.

I basically like the product except for the first seven inches. If there is a way to get the protective wrap off the first 7 inches without destroying the tape or your finger or cussing everything in the room I don’t know about it. It says “unwind this protective wrap” in 6 languages but it doesn’t tell you how. So actually you are buying 7” of unusable tape. I like the rest of the product and will most likely continue to purchase it and most likely will cuss the product every time I open a new roll. If you have any great ideas how to easily unwind the protective wrap please inform me.

3M has a lot of nerve putting the word "permanent" on this roll of tape. How permanent can it be if it can be applied, removed, and re-applied with EASE to just about everything, including itself? This stuff might temporarily stick two pieces of paper together, but that's about it. The adhesive is a joke. If you want something that really won't stick to anything and removes easily, then this is your tape! Otherwise, don't waste your money.

This tape is my secret for perfect gift wrapping. I have used it for years to create beautiful gifts with no visible tape and I remove it from the dispensers and place it in a desktop dispenser with regular magic tape, scissors and pen. This is the first time I ever used double sided tape, and I was pleasantly surprised with the thickness of the tape! Because of the thickness of the tape, it was easy to work with and wouldn't get stuck on itself. The tape is reasonably narrow, and I can also cut the tape vertically without the tape getting stuck to the side of the scissors, like it would if the tape was thinner. There is a very slight stretch to the tape, but it's not a worry when cutting with the built I'm serrated edge, as long as you hold the piece close to the edge when tearing it. I don't imagine I'll be purchasing again any time soon because I got a pick pack, but I'd consider stocking up. I don't know if any other double sided tape is as great as this!

The product description says "no-mess" and "pulls off the roll smoothly", which are heinous lies. A lack of backing paper means handling and cutting it is a struggle, and the tape has been shifted to the side on many of the rolls, which means you have to pull REALLY HARD to overcome the friction from the case, or else take your chances at free-handing it (my condolences). Also the "blade" only works half the time.But, ultimately, it's tape. It does what you need it to do, it's really cheap, and there's enough here for your children's children. This is the point in the review where I'd say I'd buy it again, but I trust my loved ones to put me out of my misery if they ever find out I've used three thousand inches of double-sided tape.

I usually buy a 2 pack from stores for around the same price, you can’t beat the value. I use this tape to attach photos into my journals, it’s the best double sided adhesive tape I’ve ever used. I’ve used this for 5 years and will continue to do so

The convenience of having lots of double-sided tape as I use it all the time to hang pics on my concrete walls as don't want to drill holes.
