I very much appreciated the negative reviews, since that is often how I determine if I order a product.I've been using the Spa Home Facial Steamer for several weeks to deal with both sinus and eye issues. The steamer is much quicker, easier to use and clean up than a pan of heated water. Although I had a prescription to deal with the eye issue, the doctor told me that twice a day hot compression would be necessary to repair the underlying problem of my meibomian glands being totally closed. He told me that once I got them working again, I would still need to do hot compression daily pretty much forever to keep them open. I've found using the facial steamer to be much easier and more effective.In essence, the steamer is a two-stage heating element with a low and high setting, and a molded face shield to funnel the steam directly onto the face. It heats up quickly at a much faster rate than a pan of water. Once to steam, the water in it last a bit over ten minutes.I'm still using the product and pleased with the ease of use and, in my case, the effectiveness. Not all my meibomian glands have opened up, but enough have to reduce my need to use eye drops frequently.As always, see your doctor about any medical condition. I did require a prescription to deal with the eye problem, and the facial steamer wouldn't have changed that.Update: I've had this for eleven months. It continues to work well and be easy to clean. Paired with a humidifier it has greatly reduced the eye issue. I now know to use a saline solution in eye cups if I have a flare up due to dust or grit, followed by this facial spa which reduces the duration of the inflammation. It continues to help with my sinuses, and also helped with reducing acne by probably 90 percent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works For Me *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2018* Facial steamer, can't figure out the eucalyptus oil, thought it should smell like cough drops, but it smells like Tea Tree oil--must be a species spelled euclayptus (sic) not eucalyptus. Anyway, the euclayptus (sic) oil had somehow leaked just a little and permeated the whole apparatus. Took a while to get the yucky smell out. As far as steaming, it works well, maybe a little more steam at first, so you tend to keep face father out of hood, but if it doesn't out out as much, just put your face farther into the hood and it is more than enough steam. It is easy to use and works so well. My son has suffered with horrible acne and has tried everything except Accutane. He wanted to try the steamer to help open things up so he could clean his face better. Wow!!! It is helping his acne so much. It softens the dried up areas and the blackheads and pimple just come right out. He can get a way deepen clean afterward. This steamer is perfect and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!! I don't have acne but I have used it several times because it softens the skin so nicely that your makeup will set beautifully!!!
