Two of the mats fit nicely wall-to-wall in my standard 30" range with about 2" of overlap.. Are very thin, and lay nice and flat under the heating element. I was hesitant at first to use them in my oven, fearing their closeness to the lower element. But, so far they have not shown even a hint of being affected by the heating element. The box says they can handle up to 650 degrees, and if the lower element gets anywhere near that hot when it is glowing red, the mats don't seem to mind. Very happy. Will be easy to take out and wipe off. Sure beats scraping burned-on debris from the oven bottom. Truth is, using these as grill mats sounds like a mess. It never even occurred to me that I might want to use them that way when I bought them.UPDATE: OK. I am a believer. I wrote in my review that I had no intention of using these in my grill, as I was afraid it would be "messy." Well, I spent almost an hour last night giving my grill a thorough cleaning, and most of that time was spent prying cooked-on gunk off the bottom and sides of the grill, from all those splatters. It was work. So, today I decided to cook chicken breasts on the grill. When I opened my nice clean grill, I thought "what the heck, I might as well at least TRY one of the grilling mats. Maybe it WILL work, and help keep my grill clean." I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken browned nicely, and clean-up was easy. I DID notice that using a lower heat setting than I usually do worked best, since the mat seems to impede air circulation around the food, making the point of contact between mat and food get cooked a lot faster--the chicken was beginning to burn where it contacted the mat. I turned the heat way down, and the problem went away. I waited until the mat cooled, wiped the excess drippings off with a paper towel, and washed it in the kitchen sink. I have been using these mats for quite a while at home with great success on my gas grill and in a gas oven. Nothing sticks to them. They are easy to clean when done. I recently visited a friend out west who has a large outdoor grill. I ordered a set of mats for him. We decided to grill up some salmon and, since he likes the salmon well done, he turned up the heat so much that the skin of the fish fried on the mat. When done, there were carbon spots on the mat that would not come off. Coincidently, I received an email from Customer Service who asked if I was happy with my purchase. I replied that I did have a problem with one mat. Next thing I knew, they offered to replace the mat in 2 days ! I am truly impressed with both their interest in keeping the customer happy and really standing behind their product. They also keep track of who is buying their products and proactively send emails to make sure everything is good. Not many companies do that ! I plan to buy other sets as gifts for my family and friends, rather than the traditional bottle of wine when going to dinner. I am using a 4 burner propane grill with my favorite recipe for marinated chicken. After laying the Grill Matts (2) over the grill surface, I started using my normal grilling temperature, about 3/4 full. The grill began to smoke and a considerable amount of ash was created. When I turned the temperature down to low, the smoke and ash decreased and disappeared. I am not sure if covering 90%+ of the grill surface was the problem or the heat. Bottom line, the chicken came out beautifully and the grill remained clean, although I did miss the grill marks and the charring of the meat. Also, the Grill Matts did not clean up perfectly. They still have a small amount of burnt material left on them.
