## Description

Product description Discover the superior quality of Tried & True's Danish Oil, a penetrating linseed oil finish that is polymerized for fast and easy application on interior woodwork and furniture. This high-scoring wood finish is ideal for wood paneling, cabinets, and even surfaces that come in contact with food such as salad bowls, wood utensils, and butcher blocks. Renowned among woodworking professionals, this product is a must-have for anyone serious about their wood crafts. This Danish Oil not only provides a protective layer but also enhances the beauty of the wood, giving it a slightly darker, richer hue. It can be combined with oil-based pigments to create custom wood stains, making it a versatile addition to your woodworking toolkit. Application is a breeze - simply apply a very thin coat with a lint-free cloth at room temperature, ensuring there is no puddling. Allow it to penetrate the wood for a minimum of 5 minutes and let the piece cure for at least 8 hours. With Tried & True's Danish Oil, a little goes a long way in achieving a stunning wood finish. Directions Apply 2-3 coats, allowing each to dry before applying the next. Safe for skin contact and non-toxic. Compliant with FDA regulations for food contact surfaces.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this product dishwasher safe?**
A: Hi, I actually work for Tried + True and no wood should be put in the dishwasher, regardless of the finish. This would not be considered a dishwasher safe finish as it is water resistant, not waterproof, and the harsh chemicals can actually dissolve the cured finish after time. Wash with mild, natural soap and warm water.

**Q: Can you apply indoors? Looking for a protective finish for our wood table. Will need to apply it indoors & there are kids at home. Any toxic smell?**
A: This stuff is none-toxic, zero VOC's, 100% food safe, and no heavy metal driers. It smells like a cooking oil and is a simple to use. Absolutely it can be applied indoors and safe around children. It is wonderful stuff for all the above reasons but won't give you a hard table top finish like varnish or polyurethane finishes. I hope this helps.

**Q: I have some 1970's built cedar kitchen cabinets needing revitalization. Will this work overtop of an existing possible minwax satin type finish?**
A: I would sand off the existing satin finish before applying the Tried and True. You want it to be able to soak into the wood.

**Q: Does the odor that many described ever totally dissipate? I don't want a permanent odor in the room**
A: Not only does it dissipate quickly, it's very pleasant when it is apparent. I am such a fan of this oil finish that I love smelling it, so I re-do my banisters periodically to keep them smelling new. I've never had anyone comment on an odor/frangrance, so I don't believe it's because I've gotten used to it. Enjoy!!

After a LOT of research and experimentation, I decided on Danish oil for my custom built redwood shelves. I absolutely LOVE the finish from Tried and True: the color richly reveals the beautiful grain from the redwood. The recipe for this particular Danish oil apparently goes back to the 18th century and hasn't changed much; a nice aspect too is that it is food safe. It even has a pleasant smell (for me, anyway: I'm weird:-). This Danish oil is easy to apply, once you've prepped your wood effectively. Carefully watch how much you apply: for example, if after 24 hours your wood is still damp, you've applied more than you need. A little goes a long way. My redwood shelves took about two to three coats, depending on the lumber: no more than that. It's also important to determine what it will do to your chosen wood: my redwood looks fantastic, but I cannot speak to other darker wood types and what the finish will look like. I'd strongly recommend ensuring you have some test pieces of your lumber (which is a good idea anyway). All in all, an excellent choice: I'd highly recommend Tried and True's Danish Oil.
