## Description

Specifically designed with the needs of mountain biking and BMX in mind. These pads also work great for snowboarding and as a low-profile under pant skate pad.

Review: Great knee pads for high impact and abrasion resistance - I do a lot of climbing and canyoneering and sometimes bang or scrape my knees. I wanted knee pads that offered impact protection while not impeding my range of motion, but most options either seemed to be a plastic cap or thin foam, neither of which was what I wanted. I've had the opportunity to use these a few times and I've been really happy with their performance. Pros: - Abrasion Resistance: I've been dragging these across different types of rock and the knee material hasn't ripped, torn, or gouged yet. - Flexible: My range of motion isn't affected at all and they're comfortable to wear - Packable: Since they're flexible, they lay flat and can slide into side pockets on my pack really easily - Breathable: No issues with too much sweating - Impact: The high-density foam has taken a few decent impacts so far and my knees have been just fine Cons: - Stitching: They haven't started unraveling or coming apart, but I've had some threads pull out and some of the stitching looks like it might not last more than a season or two. I'm nitpicking with the stitching since it hasn't actually come apart yet, but it's something I'm keeping my eye on. Overall, I'm really happy with these pads since they satisfied my needs really well. I've already recommended them to others!
Review: Saved me several times...glad I bought them - I own both the knee and elbow. This review applies to both. BOTTOM LINE - A bit tight and little hot in warm weather, but stay put and have repeatedly saved me. So glad I bought them and would buy them again... SIZE - First off...you may want to go up a size. I'm tall and thin framed (5'11' with skinny legs and arms). I almost always comfortably wear a medium for things like this. I bought a medium and they are tight...real tight! They're so tight that I almost sent them back. In the end I decided to keep them and have easily logged over a 100 miles wearing them. They have loosened up a bit, but are still pretty tight. The elbow pads are tight enough that it's uncomfortable to bend my arm more than 90 degrees with them on. Of course, there's an up side to being a bit tight. These pads don't move at all. They stay put while riding and I've gone done with them a few times and they didn't move. COMFORT - The first ride or two was a bit uncomfortable. The pads weren't necessarily stiff, but did take some time to relax a bit. Nowadays, I don't even know they're on. I've regularly done 1.5+ hour trail rides with no discomfort at all. My only comfort issue...they're pretty well padded and get hot in the summer. I've learned to deal with the heat in exchange for the protection, but it sucks on really hot days. This past summer, we had a solid week in the 100 degree range and I decided to leave the pads at home. Well, I went down in a curve that was slippery due to the very dry conditions. I wasn't hurt, but got pretty scratched up in the area were the knee pad would have been. Lesson learned... PROTECTION - These are not downhill pads and are not going to protect you in a serious crash on hard terrain. However, the are nicely padded and will provide good protection against impact and abrasion in most general trail riding situations. I started mountain biking in early 2015 and bought these after my first real fall. I've continued to test my skills and gone down with them on several times since. These pads have saved me every time. I still got some bumps and bruises, but was able to get up and continue riding each time. DURABILITY - The pads have held up to the abuse. They still look mostly new and have no rips or marks (even after saving my butt on several occasions). As I said, these are tight and the straps are pretty much stretched to the max every time I put them on. As such, the straps and velcro are showing a bit of wear, but nothing extreme. They also seems like something I could fix easily myself when the time comes.
