(A dampener pad)** A: No. You can easily wear a hole though this material. This is heat shield fibers not padding. **Q: What are the dimensions? I see comments saying 8" X 4" and some say 4" X 8"** A: Width is 8" and height is 4"...works great! **Q: will this fit around a muffler that is 4" wide (will the clamps work)?** A: It fits better around just the pipes. It is not rated to sit directly on the pipe. The more it's curled the less likely it will be pressed onto the pipes. Where as, if it is curled along the length of the shield, it doesn't bend it the middle the other way. A 4" muffler is small, but I feel it would bend and sit on the muffler because the shield is not very big. Although, mine touches my pipes because I need it placed on a bend. It smelled a little at first but hasn't caught fire. **Q: Is this for a car? I purchased two of these heat shields to prevent burns on my legs. I wasn't sure if they would work well, but assumed that if a turbo blanket is built like this, it should do the job better than anything else. Installation was incredibly easy. Took about 10 mins. Quality of product was fantastic. And as you can see in the video. The stainless exhaust is up to 100*C after a very spirited ride, and I was able to lay and hold my hand on the shields. I highly recommend this product. I only wish i could get another couple or a 10"x4" version. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not some cheap knock-off *by R***R on Reviewed in Singapore on 19 September 2024* Definitely pricey for what it is, but the alternative is just going to be some cheap piece of fabric or metal. Could have provided two lengths of hose clamps.
