It is supposed to be able to drive two 4K displays at the same time and this does work with a Mac.To get the Display to work at full resolution on a Mac, you have to use both display port cables for the monitor and hook both up to the Mac. Yes, you will need to take up two USB-C ports and use the Multi-Window option in the screen settings. (set left side as DP1 and right side as DP2). Your Mac will be driving two screens at 2560x1440 pixels (the same as two 27" Apple Cinema Displays. Doing this means you can not have a window in the middle of the screen. All windows and apps will either be on the left side or the right side. You may have to play with the arrangement of the screens in the display settings on your Mac so the left side of the screen is on the left and the right side is on the right. Otherwise you'll have issues moving the mouse from one side of the full screen to the other. The screens will run at 60 Hertz, but this is typical for Macs.By the time you add power (no power though the monitor for the computer), you are taking up 3 out of 4 USB-c ports. Unless you never unhook your laptop from the displays, I highly recommend spending the money for the"Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro w/ 2.6ft Thunderbolt 3 Cable" This device has 1 display port and 1 USB-C video port, (so you'll need at least one "Cable Matters USB C to DisplayPort Adapter with 8K HDR DisplayPort 1.4 - USB Type C and Thunderbolt 3 Port Compatible" to attach the 2nd display port cable). This box also has several USB ports and supplies up to 85 watts to your Mac, so you'll only have 1 USB-C cable from your Mac to this box making it easy to hook and unhook your Mac.The downside is that the Mac and/or the screen doesn't alway revert back to dual screen mode or the screens on the right side when the Mac wakes up from sleep mode). If this happens you might have to re-select Multi-Window option from the screen settings and you might have to change one of the screens to DP1 or DP2. A simple workaround to stop this from happening while your Mac is hooked up to screens and power supply, is to turn off sleep/power saving mode when the Mac is hooked up to a charger and turn on the screen saver to prevent any burn in.There is an option in my display settings to run the screens at 3840x2160. This does work, but everything on the screen is scaled, so 12 pt type is half the size it should be and images and details appear softer (but this is scaling, not actual resolution, so things should appear soft).Also it does not appear you can adjust the brightness or contrast of the screen while in multi-screen mode, so get your screen set the way you want and then set up multi-screen mode. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute unit of a monitor *by E***. on February 5, 2021* Edit (1.5 years later):This monitor is still going strong for me! I don't really have anything negative to say other than that if the monitor goes into sleep mode that sometimes only one half of the screen wakes up so you have to mess with the input settings to correct it. The other issue is that my PC will only apply blue light filter settings to one half of the monitor if you have 2 DP or HDMI cables hooked up to it (so not really a monitor problem, but it was alarming to me when I noticed it - it can be fixed in Windows). I've otherwise continued to really get a ton of value out of this monitor.I work from home full time and like to game when I'm not working. I was wielding dual monitors, but wanted to free up some real estate on my desk without losing the amount of screen I was working with. So, I decided to go big.And boy, is it BIG.I did a bit of research before settling on this particular brand/model, and all points lead to this one being the best bang for the buck.Set up was relatively easy. The packaging came with all the necessary hardware and screws whether you're using the included stand or intending to use a VESA mount. Installing the monitor just required inserting a few screws into the base, and the monitor slid easily into place. It's extremely easy to adjust height and angle as well. The screen itself is curved just enough to give a feel of immersion without it feeling like it's engulfing your head.For work I use a thin client, and that turned out to be a little bit more of a challenge to set this monitor up with just because the client is older. That said, the multi-window setting built into the monitor (navigating with the included remote) essentially "tricked" the thin client into thinking it had 2 monitors hooked into it instead of one.For gaming this thing is awesome. Upon hooking this up to my hobbyist PC I was initially a little disappointed in the colors being a bit washed out, however if you go to the Viotek website they do have custom ICC profiles that you can install based on whichever monitor model you have. This helped correct some of the color issues right away (however you can play around with the settings in the monitor itself to adjust to your personal preference). The performance you get heavily depends on what games you are playing. No Man's Sky with all settings on ultra played beautifully without any adjustments whatsoever, however Assassin's Creed: Origins had all sorts of issues with tearing and odd color issues that took quite a bit of tweaking to get right. However, I personally don't play the majority of my games on the ultra wide settings, so results may improve as I spend more time learning the ins and outs of what this monitor is capable of.Overall, if you want to go big without spending over 1k, this is a really solid choice for a monitor.
