Are the two bars one piece and the mount connects and holds them in place by the top bar?** A: Behind the circles that are on the ends of the towel rod are mounting clips that are secured into the wall. The towel bar then clips on to the mounts. Ours is very secure. It's really well made and a great-looking item. Not flimsy at all. **Q: What is the distance between the two rods? Do you find that you are able to use plush towels?** A: Top rod is about 3.5" from wall and 2" above lower (front) rod, which is about 2.75"further out from wall than top rod. **Q: Does this product have the single screw underneath that holds the mount in place on the wall?** A: No, it doesn't. I know what you mean and those generally come loose over time. This does have a single screw but it is located half way up the wall mount and it's only to join the mount with the rack. **Q: How far apart are the installation mounts? Is it your typical pole mount that goes into the wall?** A: The center to center measurement for the mounting holes is 24".
