Lean the pouch against a solid surface (rock or something). Should take about 10 or 15 minutes to fully heat. **Q: The mre says 2022 on it. Is that the day it was made or expiration date?** A: Neither, it is an inspection date, the manufacture date would be 4 years earlier with an average life span of 10 years.
