Review: Great product, good value. - I have been using CeraVe products for quite a while now. In fact, I have tried all of their products in their salicylic acid line. That includes this cleanser, the lotion, and the rough and bumpy skin cream. All of their products are top quality. This one is no exception. It arrived well packaged, and in good condition, and it did not leak at all in transit. It is legitimately fragrance free. It has a smooth, non-greasy texture, that makes you wonder whether or not it’s even a soap, but it lathers up nicely. Sometimes I like to use it with an ultrasonic facial scrubber. They pair beautifully together. It leaves my skin feeling very fresh and clean. It has a smoothing quality to it because of the salicylic acid. Despite the fact that I have sensitive skin, it does not cause any irritation at all. I haven’t tried it as a make up remover, as I usually use micellar water for that, but I suspect it would work quite nicely. I decided to buy it on desertcart because it was actually cheaper than buying it in my local drugstore. In that regard, I think this is an excellent value.
Review: Not a daily cleanser for sensitive skin - Not a daily cleanser for sensitive skin but a magnificent exfoliater to gentle exfoliating facial wash if used in small amounts. It doesn't irritate or strip my skin as long as I use in small amounts and not daily, which is impressive considering I have rosacea, hence a litte extra sensitive. I use it once or twice a week and thats just right. When I use this exfoliating wash it leaves my face feeling clean, refreshed, and more importantly smooth. I find my skin doesn't feel as textured or oily yet it does so without leaving it dry flaky or patchy, which allows me to put makeup on much more smoothly. Blemishes are also kept in check. It's no miracle but it does help. I even found it works great to exfoliate my dry feet, leaving heals much more smoother. However, less is more with this product. Too much (I mean anything more than a pea size) dries out my skin which in turn activates flakes and boosts oiliness that then gets trapped with the dry flakes which in turn quickly flares up the blemishes. So quantity is key here. Also, note that this is not a foaming cleanser. At least it doesn't really foam up as much as I would like. I miss the big lathering feel and took a min to get use to lack of it. Although this is a good exfoliater I find that this cleanser struggles with washing off makeup completely, especially color correcters and foundation. You will need to use a gentle makeup remover first for better results. Overall, its a good exfoliating cleanser but I wish it was more foamy and strong enough to wash makeup on its own in one go, but since its not my daily cleanser it is not a deal breaker.

**Q: What % of Salicylic Acid is in this product?**
A: My dermatologist, from their product information, states it's less than <1%. If using this product, 0.5-1% would affect the skin in the same way. A >2% level is considered a damaging peel, rather than developing a natural slough of dead skin cells that .05-1% will do  This exfoliates gently, and gradually, avoiding skin damage, thus aiding in healing and repair. FYI - Zote bar soap drastically controls demodex mites which is the #1 cause of skin issues. The mites eat but do not 💩, They live to hang out in damaged skin, they die with all their waste in them, Their water becomes bacteria, and can further develope into a fungus infection.

**Q: Does anyone use the SA cleanser for your body? I only see reviews saying people use it for their face.**
A: Yes i do. I have had Lynne disease, chronic Lynne disease, for over 10 years now. I have a bacterial infection that's in my blood that can't be control. Any cut, abrasion, bug bite, or ingrown hair becomes a horrible mess, and can become a deep infection. Prednisone, 5mg twice a WEEK, keeps the information from making things worse. SA products, as well as the liquid wart remover destroy the bacterial infection faster than everything, and i do man e everything, that's out there. Zote bar soap is the other blessing. It kills Demodex mites, and repels blood sucking insects from biting me. It's wonderful for your skin and hair.

**Q: Can this be used daily? Since it says it exofoliates.**
A: I have very very sensitive skin and rosacea and this is my daily cleanser (I don't use it just for exfoliation). I've been using this cleanser 2x daily (AM & PM) for over 3 years. Currently I use it before +thayer's witch hazel, the outset serum, Cerave or Humanrace moisturizing cream, supergoop tinted sunscreen or cerave tinted sunscreen). there's nothing else like it. No break outs (pimples etc), no irritation or inflammation, no dryness. Just calm skin. If you want "glowy" skin you'll want to add a serum and/or moisturizer. If you want an exfoliator that's more like a peel, this isn't the right product. It is the only product in my skincare regime that I will not change or replace. For others with sensitive skin or rosacea, I started out with this 1-2x per week and built up frequency to daily and phased out Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser (Cetaphil was great, but for me this was better b/c it exfoliated & cleansed so significantly reduced clogged pores). I find that when I don't use it for more than a week or 2 (like when I forgot it while traveling), my pores around t-zone area are clogged. Doesn't help with rosacea (I have to take dermatologist Rx), but it DOES NOT make it worse which most SA and other exfoliating products do.

**Q: Which would be better for my son's acne - the foaming cleanser or renewing SA cleanser?**
A: The foaming cleanser will remove excess oil and refresh the skin without over-stripping it or leaving it feeling tight and dry that is ideal for normal to oily skin. I have been using CeraVe products for quite a while now. In fact, I have tried all of their products in their salicylic acid line.
