Update 04/25/2014Lifeproof replaced my case under warranty for the damaged charging port door. The bad news is that I'm having the same issue with the new case. The charging port cover has plastic hinges. They are not very robust. I have files another warranty claim with Lifeproof but no word yet whether or not they will replace it.*************************************************************************************************************************I've been using my Lifeproof case about three months now.On the positive side, the case is very durable. It has very good "anti-skid" properties meaning it doesn't slip or slide on hard surfaces and provides solid grip without applying much hand pressure but still slides easily in and out of my pockets.I've dropped it a few times (by accident), and the case provides very good shock absorption (no phone damage). The case is not too bulky, and I really enjoy the direct access to the touch screen (I wasn't using a screen protector anyway).I have not had any problems with audio, hearing, or being heard on phone calls.On the negative side, the case interferes with the proximity/gesture sensor. That's why the screen blacks out when you make a phone call. If you have gesture controls enabled, you will notice that they don't work either (or work intermittently). I contacted LifeProof, and after providing the serial numbers for the case, I was provided a new replacement. The replacement had the same issue. After receiving my third replacement case, I determined that sensor issue must be a design limitation. The gesture sensor is too close to the ear piece. There isn't enough clearance for the case to seal the ear piece and leave the sensor clear (though it comes very close).But kudos to Lifeproof for being quick to respond to my complaint and providing no hassle replacement (though I ultimately kept the original case).I am having a different issue. The hinged piece which snaps over the charging port is damaged. Looks like a small piece broke off. The snap cover is popping off the hinge piece. Contacted LifeProof to determine if it's eligible for replacement.Overall, this is a very good (almost excellent) phone case albeit with some trade offs. If you expose your phone to the elements (wind, rain, etc.), are active in outdoor sports, work in an industrial or military setting, or you just have bad luck dropping your phone, then the Lifeproof case is a good choice despite issues such as the gesture sensor. I learned very quickly to work around the sensor issue, and while it is annoying the other benefits more than make up for the difference.

I bought this case hoping all the negative reviews were wrong considering I have several family members who have purchased and been happy with Lifeproof cases. I am glad I did. Barring any shipping boo boo's, or just playing getting a lemon case, I think that you would be happy with it as well. I tested the case before I put it on my phone as per the directions and there was no water leakage. I have not had any issues with hearing or being heard by anyone on a phone call and the speaker still produces loud enough that I have not noticed any difference in volume. As far as the headphone jack goes, there was a jack extender with the case. I myself have a iPod and won't need to use it. I also have had no issues using the menu and back buttons, no they are not as easy to get to as it would be if no case was on but that doesn't bother me. And as far as screen protection, no case offers you fool-proof screen protection. Seriously, if your screen breaks with this case on, the screen would have broke with any case you could buy on the market because the phone landed HARD on the screen itself. I love this case so far and as I'm not planning on deep sea diving or throwing it off a cliff this case is awesome and I'm sad to see sooooo many people write such negative reviews. Maybe I'm just not picky, I don't know but this case will protect your phone from everyday use. No bungee jumping with the phone :)

I wanted a waterproof case and it's exactly that. Works great as long as the ports are properly closed. I tested it out myself. Took it to the beach and a couple pool parties and the waterproof aspect of the case works well.It does not affect your signal strength , bluetooth or wifi .Cons.Depending on how you are holding the device and the size of your fingers , pressing the menu and back keys are a bit difficult at times cause of the shape of the case itself.Its the actual bare screen you're touching. You do get a good screen protector with the case and it doesn't affect the responsiveness of the screen. .. its still the bare exposed screen. If the device falls on the side or hits the corners ,you're pretty much ok. But if it falls screen first you do have the chance of breaking the screen.Sounds muffled cause of how it is sealed . When you're on a call , the person may think that you have them on speaker . So I mostly use my headset .

Awesome case!!! If only you could hear with it on. While working for a cellular company I decided to invest in a more expensive case brand. .. To be clear I know newer phones are made to break but I get cases for protection from scratches and dents...the tempered glass is the investment thats saved my rear many times.. So thats also why I got the lifeproof nuud version, its open for your own glass. I thought that might help with the speaker issue commonly heard about lifeproof cases. I was wrong. I cant have anything running from a fan to someone talking beside me or I cant hear on my phone. This was not a problem in the orginal case that was just a rubber slip on with cut outs. I know life proofs are meant to protect the phone and they do the job well but at the cost of being able to hear on your phone. Now that I use the phone for my daughter to watch movies with earbuds I keep the case on. Its hard to remove anyways but keeps her from hurting the phone everytime she drops it...so if your wanting to use bluetooth headphones or something similar this case will protect your phone but you will not be able call directly from it without dead silence.

This is the second case of this type that I have used on my S4 phone. The first one had the door at the bottom rip off and then a year later the button on the side fell out and the plastic deteriorated. The worst thing about the case are the echos. I bought the same case again because I knew what I was getting, my phone was clean, and I could buy several of these for the price of a different one.

I owned an older version of this case before, for the same phone model as well. But the bottom piece that covers the connector at the bottom crumbled and fell apart within the first week. (note: I haven't dropped it yet) but other than this, the case works well and it is easier to keep clean than it's older version. Shipping was super fast too

I had a Lifeproof FRE before and I loved it. I just didn't want to worry about my phone getting wet when I go camping or next to a pool if someone decides to push me in the water. But the cap for the charger plug broke after 8 months. Bought this to replace it. Turns out the one I received isn't waterproof, which doesn't really matter because my phone has a small crack on the screen and the NUUD doesn't have a build in screen protector (didn't realize when I bought it) so it would be useless for me anyway. Wouldn't recommend the Lifeproof NUUD if you want a really full protection.I won't return it because I use it with my old FRE part with the screen build in. Seems to fit and I tested it underwater so far no leeks inside.As for the echo, it makes the sound bad but I can understand people and people can hear me clearly.

Bought, tested several times with the included testing 'block', and leaked every time. The testing block they include seems to be a bit smaller than the S4 phone.. but I wasn't willing to test it with my real phone. Absolute garbage, was too busy to return it. Waste of money.

Is what it is . But extremely cheap USB port cover. It lasted only a few days before the bottom broke off making the waterproof purpose of it useless.
