While its not pleasant to step out onto a soaked rug, I've never slipped, and never had to step from the rug to wet slippery tile. Even the small 36 x 24 rug keeps water from a long shower from getting on the tile floor, though the rug will be heavy, hard for arthritic hands to wring out, and take a while to air dry. When I don't get water on the floor, it's delightful to step onto the thick, soft rug. Adequately non-slip, even for someone with less than perfect balance. Likely will hold up to more washings than rugs with the standard backing, though I've only washed it about 3 times. I always air dry. I got the peacock blue. Nice color. No fading so far. I wish it came in maroon. I also wish it were available in a wider size. 44 x 32 would do it for me, especially since I found another use for it. The variegated texture makes it better than lambs wool, at least the synthetic stuff, at alleviating pressure sores.
