Review: Far Superior to any Compass type Binoculars - I needed magnification with a compass being out in the Gulf of Mexico and a way to judge distance as well. This is the best "bang for the buck" for that purpose. Excellent light gathering, very good lens, and it may be manufactured in China, but it was certainly designed by those in the USA as well as using the best components ! On the side there is a hand strap so that you don't drop it even with wet hands, the carrying pouch is very well made and comes with a belt strap. The lens covers are connected so that you don't lose them. Fantastic warranty which probably will not be needed as it is a well built item. Finding the compass in the monocular is instant, but never annoying. Why have big, heavy, cumbersome binoculars that take up so much room when this does the same job in a well designed and well built package? And I feel safer with one hand on the boat steering wheel when holding something to find my direction as that also allows a steadier grip and less movement of the monocular, rather than two hands on binoculars and hope the boat can steer itself....don't think so. This scope with its built in compass is my number one navigation tool. **Q: What is the eyeview comfort time on this?** A: In general I never keep it in My eye for any extended period of time, but I have to say that I've noticed no discomfort in the times that I have used it it certainly has good resolution and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. It turned out to be a little bit larger than I had anticipated as I was looking for a small pocket monocular, But that's made up for in its clarity and range of vision. It is fragile (Italian for easy to break). *by G***V on June 6, 2024* First, when I ordered it couple of years ago, the inclosed compass was the main factor. Yes, it has a MRAD reticle, but it is only divisions of 10. Works for ships and boats. But the vertical 5 was actually 4.5 and so on so forth. Recently, I had a chance to use it in marine situation. And please be careful with the eyepiece end. It is not calculated for any sidewise force. Stow it in its pouch and not in your pocket. My scope was damaged in several places. The rubber standoff popped right off with the plastic ring breaking. I thought I lost it to the ocean - but got it back miraculously. Then, the entire eyepiece assembly popped out. The rubber gasket was cut too. Now I purchased a rubber gasket and popped the assembly back. Optically, while it worked, it was really good for calculating the distances and finding mooring balls.
