Very easy to put on and take off the bucket, the original lid was like a paint can - needed to really pry it off. The bucket handle clears the lid just barely, and the lid is stable enough to sit on. Lose a little bit of space in the bucket because the lid extends a few inches in, but the convenience of having compartments in the lid (and a lid that fits and is strong) really makes up for it when storage and organization are crucial for having a good time. Helpful hint I found that if you cut thin foam sheets (like paper) an line the inside of the lid your tackle takes less of a beating. **Q: It says a pack. Does that mean one?** A: Yes, pack sizes available are 1, 2, 3, etc **Q: How many inches deep is the part that goes into the bucket? I have a bunch of stuff in the bucket already.** A: About 3 or 4 inches max **Q: Can it fit some larger items such as spool for leader line, pliers, fish grabber...? Looking for use pier fishing where need limited things, some big.** A: When you open either side there’s a lift out sectioned piece that you can store smaller things like 3 or 4 inch long lures and such. Under that is a larger storage half circle about 2” deep. Good for hook packs, thinner spool of leader line, needle nose, fish grabber etc. Not a huge amount of storage but adequate if you’re just carrying basics.
