Quite aromatic and pungent by the abundance of its oil ascaridol.

Review: Great! No sticks and twig bits - I have bought other epazote before at local stores and online and those products were gray and filled with more stick pieces than leafy herb parts—so annoying! But this epazote was a bright green and had no stick bits. It is fantastic and full of that unique woodsy almost smoky taste of real deal epazote. I mostly use it in refried beans but also add some to my tortilla soup for a little extra flavor that always leaves people asking for my recipe.

This epazote is of good quality; the aroma and taste are great. The jar is larger than many competitors. It has the screw-on metal lid only; no plastic lid with holes underneath. Be careful because you might pour half your epazote on the first dish. I highly recommend it for Mexican dishes that use black beans or mushrooms.
