They are not loaded with chemicals like the instant or quick cooking pearls. For perfectly chewy "QQ", sweet bobas, the recipe is below: -Boil 8 cups of water -Add 1 cup boba to the boiling water, stir until floating. -Cover, reduce heat to medium and boil 15 mins. Stir every few minutes. -Drain boba and rinse with HOT water, set aside. -Boil 1 cup dark brown sugar with 1 cup water. -Add hot boba, cover, and boil on medium heat for another 15 mins. Stir to avoid sticking to the pot. -Remove from heat and keep them warm until used. ***Adding cold liquids while hot will ruin these,ot makes them harden very quickly. I just received this today and before the bag was even opened, you could see it was crushed. You could also see moisture droplets through the bag. When I opened it and pinched one of the pearls, it crushed between my fingers. There's no way I could ever use this! I'm mad there is a "No Return" policy for this product for me to even get my money back!! What a complete waste!!
