With its integral wall mount, this vintage-style clock not only tells time but also enhances your decor with its unique nautical charm. ## Description We have taken a beautiful piece of solid paulownia wood (sustainable) and developed a new style of tide clock for the lover of surf! Each of our clocks is hand made and therefore, one of a kind. Each piece will vary somewhat in design due to the hand made process and wood variations. Setting instructions will be included. Once set, the tide clock will display minimal error throughout the month – usually a discrepancy of less than 30 minutes, and therefore unnoticeable. Typically only 4 -5 days of each month can there be a difference as great as an hour. If an exact tide time is of the essence, or your safety is at risk, please do not rely on this clock. Natural wood backdrop, slate gray vintage surfers, red & white clock hands included Clock measures approximately 12" square and 1.5" D Clock requires a AA battery (battery is not included) Intended for indoor use. *Please note that clocks will arrive with clock hand and cap detached (due to the fragility of the hand)... instructions on assembly will be included. This tidal clock is Semidiurnal. (Works best on the East Coast) In the US, along the Atlantic Coast, there are normally two high and two low tides each lunar day, called a semidiurnal tide. This clock is set accordingly and will rotate every 12 hours and 25 minutes. In other areas, such as the Pacific Coast, the west coast of Florida, and the Gulf of Mexico, tides are diurnal or mixed, so this particular tide clock will need to be adjusted more regularly in these locations. Additional factors that influence day-to-day tide times and heights in your area are barometric pressure, onshore winds, shapes of bays and inlets, coastline configuration, and local water depth.
