I read a lot of reviews of this product and others and couldn't really come to a conclusion whether these would hold up to a bunch of kids painting water colors on. Well I'm here to tell you, it worked great. The paper was strong enough to hold up to water paints, and while a few kids accidentally punctured it with the fairly fine brushes, the lantern ball stayed intact. Most kids had no issues with this, including my 2 year old. They make great decorations too! I considered buying color ones but if you're looking for a cheap alternative these paint pretty great.I looked up different painting strategies and didn't have the space for spray paint so I went with a watercolor option. I wouldn't try to paint them a bright color, the paper does get soft and you need to be gentle.
