Your opening is slightly larger than mine and it fits great **Q: My fireplace sizes are: 28.5 wide at front, 20.5 wide rear, 13 front to back, 20 high. All inches. Will this fit in this space?this** A: It will fit but it is a tight fit do not use glass doors in in front as it needs make up air as it is a vent free it needs this air for complete conbustion **Q: Would you feel comfortable using this while you are away or asleep?** A: I would not feel comfortable with any gas logs while I an sleeping or away **Q: What side is the gas line hookup?** A: We use propane from a bottle that’s located outside our house. The propane comes into the house on the left side of the fireplace. It is piped around behind the gas logs by a flex hose and attached to the right side of the burners. So, the short answer is it is on the right. Keeps the living area warm and toasty and keeps the central heat from coming on. (Probably not a money saving feature but I like to think so.) The thermostat works very well. So far so good. It's a huge upgrade from our previous set that was broken and clogged up. My complaints are the odor it puts off and the assembly. Ive had this since last winter and used it several times and every time it fills the house with an obnoxious smell. I've tried burning it to try to get the new off of it but it's still persistent. After installing it and using it the first time I could smell gas. I retightened all of the connection and tried again. Still could smell it. I ended up having a service man from the gas company come out and have a look at it. It turns out that 2 of the factory connections were loose! Thankfully it was an easy fix but I never would have found it if we hadn't used his "sniffer" to pin point it. I contacted the company and they refunded some of my payment for the inconvenience. No problems since! Be sure to tighten everything though to avoid possible leaks! ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Will not stay burning after 20-30 minutes *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2014* Do not buy this product if you want a continuous fire that lasts longer than 20 minutes. The thermostat turns the unit off when it gets hot (after less than half an hour). It then will stay off till the unit cools off, which takes about 20 minutes.No wonder it is so inexpensive. No wonder they won't allow you to return it.
