The last one I bought I had purchased from a local retail store and it was a piece of junk. It started to fall apart quickly and finally I was too frustrated with it to keep using it. I did some researching on Amazon and decided to pay a bit more for a quality reviewed product, this bike pump. I was impressed when it arrived and happy to see it was lightweight and sturdy. There are a few features that I have come to love with this pump. 1-Easy of attaching and detaching the nozzle. Other pumps are a paid to attach, and even more of a pain to detach from the valve. This pump attaches and detaches with ease. That right there is enough to pay a bit more for this pump. 2-Ease of pumping. Again, comparing this to other pumps, this one is very easy to pump. Another very imporant part of a pump. 3-Large feet pads to stand on. The base is a good size that is easy to stand on and keep in place. 4-Air Pressure gauge. Many pumps come with these, and they are a must have if you use it often. Very helpful. 5-Where the hose connects to the pump it is connected very securely. This is where my last pump broke all the time. The hose would come off and I would have to muscle it back on, which was a huge pain. I don't foresee that ever being an issue with this pump. In retrospect, I would absolutely purchase this again.
