Better mattress than previous for side sleeping. *by K***I on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 5, 2021* It’s a very unique mattress and I suffer from a lot of pain in my neck,shoulders and back. I had initially gave it 4-5 stars but had to change it to 3. It’s still very comfortable for the type of mattress it is. It’s interchangeable to design it however you need from the inside out. My complaint is only one thing as the days and months have gone by. Yes it’s wonderful for side sleeping but only one side of the inserts are good for that. It’s not a cool mattress it’s sleeping rather warmer than I am used to. I have only one thing in mind to make it sleep cool is to get a 2 inch cooling full size insert as there’s no way that I have seen to be able to order any inserts from the company? I couldn’t find it during the time that I have had it. I’m hoping that they get ahold of me to see what there is for new more plush inserts. In the meantime I had to use a plush topper that’s not a gel type as I have had seen reviews that adding gel toppers on top of a foam mattress isn’t a great idea. This is not contributing to sleeping cooler either. I do love that I no longer suffer from side sleeping. The normal pressure points are not aching as much. It is a very good mattress but despite air conditioning on at nite it still is sleeping too hot. Now with the topper on it’s a bit more bearable but still warm. I’m definitely reaching out to the company to see if they have different options for the other side to be more plush and if they can recommend a cooling insert. Otherwise I’m looking at finding a different company for the insert. It isn’t a bed you can sit on the side of due to its plushness, you sink as well. It’s to be expected from these types of mattresses unless you get a hybrid. I can only hope the next mattress I get will be the one. This is almost the one. I think the average person who doesn’t exist in constant pain would benefit from this unique mattress due to it potentially being a preventative for later in life problems from a poor mattress. I worked in the mattress industry and have been able to gain a deep understanding of the manufacturing process as well as the logistics side (shipping is insanely expensive). I was coming from a $2000 Serta iComfort which lost shape after 4 years and became painful to sleep on (way too plush). I have heard mixed things about all of the major eCommerce mattress brands (Casper, Purple, Tuft & Needle, Leesa, etc) but then I came across this. I could not find a single negative review and given the low price, I figured I didn't have as much to lose. Granted, I have only slept on it one night. But this was after only letting it expand for about an hour (takes 72 to fully expand). Last night, I had the best sleep of my life. As did my wife.This mattress is on the firm side. Which we love. I am a side/stomach sleeper and my wife sleeps on her back and it was ideal for both of us. It provided incredible support while still having subtle softness for comfort. The mattress has a zipper to easily remove and wash topper which is a huge plus. Aesthetically, there is nothing special about the mattress. Coming from a mattress background, I know that it can cost a good bit of money to just make a mattress "look pretty." Ultimately, what matters most is what is inside. They went with a no frills, quality product. I will have to wait 6 months-1 yr to see how it's holding up then. I have read a lot of reviews on memory foam, hybrid, and spring mattresses. I decided on the Avenco brand due to good reviews, and ease of ordering thru Amazon, and price. When i recommend a mattress to my patients, these are all important points for them. My previous mattress was a old Serta memory foam. Every morning i was waking up stiff with mid and lower back pain. I knew i was well over due for a new mattress, but i didn’t want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a over priced mattress from a brick and mortar store. After ordering the Avenco memory foam mattress, it came quickly in a box that i could move upstairs myself. After taking it out of the package it did not have a odor, and inflated to full size in a few hours. The first night i slept better than i had in a long time, it’s been a full week now without waking up with back pain. I can tell I’m sleeping better because i feel much more refreshed when i wake up. I would say this mattress is firm, so If you like a plush and soft mattress this is not for you.
