**Q: I'd also like to know the thickness/width, because i want to use them for the awning on my house.  i think the tract may be wider than a rv tract.**
A: The rods are only about 1/4 inch and I don't think they can be jerry-rigged to fit a larger channel.  Check the manufacturer of your home awning, they should provide an accessory.

**Q: what is the diameter,  of the ends. the fit is important. not all rails are the same my rail is 1970 model and dont want a sun shade to pull through.**
A: I don't have them near by to be able to measure them but I can tell you that each end is a different diameter.  One side pulled through my awning when I realized that they were different.  Used the other side and they worked perfectly.

**Q: Are there any nonmetal light holders designed for vinyl siding?**
A: The holder is fabric & the hook included is metal.  Perhaps, you could purchase sturdy plastic hooks at a craft or hardware store to replace the metal ones.

**Q: What size are s hooks to buy replacements?**
A: You can use different sizes depending on your needs, but about 2 in works best
