Has not been out as long as many of their other axes with multiple generations. Just got mine and to me it's the best one. And between me and the wife we have 5 different WATL axes. WATL has just come out with an updated version of 4 or 5 of their current axes (Butcher include) called "professional". They are the same as before but with an even thinner blade , and higher priced. Not identified by "generation". If you are looking at one at this great sale price just jump on it. It's heavier than the ace of spades but slightly lighter than the corporal. Took me a little while to get the hang of it as the handle is longer than the other WATL axes, but it has really improved my game with the 4" blade covering more of the target. Turned a lot of those close 4's I had with the Ace into 6's and making more close kill shots. This works great on softer wood like poplar or cottonwood.
