In one afternoon, he was able to follow the directions and install it correctly, having no issues thus far with it. It runs well, heats the space well, and the temperature control is easy work. He was very pleased to find this on desertcart, as the hardware stores were carrying it for quite a bit more money. It looks sleek and is very quiet while running, he's hoping it will hold up well to consistent use. Overall, a great value for the money. Review: This heater exceeded my expectations in every way! - I purchased this heater to throw some heat into my basement during the colder times of the year. My basement stays the same temperature all year round for the most part at around 60-70 degrees but it's those 60 degree days I wanted to tame a bit. I hooked this heater into my natural gas line and the radiant infrared heat this heater puts out is impressive! It has 5 ceramic heating elements and can be adjusted to run either one, three or all five at one time. It has a controlled pilot flame with auto shutoff. I added the optional fan to improve circulation which it did do and the auto feature is very functional. I have a gas/C02 detector right above this unit and at full blast I get no alarms. Very impressive for a ventless heater as it sports a better than 99% efficiency rating. It is extremely well built and hanging it on the wall was a breeze as the bracket is well designed and provides a solid hanging base. For the money this heater is a steal and I highly recommend it!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The box says it requires a 100 lb tank. I was hoping to use a 40 lb tank. Why is 100 lbs required and can I use only a 40 lbs tank?**
A: I just did extensive research as to WHY a 100lb tank is necessary and here is why:  The pressure in a 10lb vs a 100lb vs a 250lb tank is all the same, HOWEVER, propane is stored in those tanks as a liquid, this liquid has a boiling point of -43.6 degree F (-42 Celsius).    To simplify it: a larger tank can VAPORIZE liquid propane FASTER because it has more surface area to transfer heat through as well as a larger volume of liquid to evaporate.     If you google "propane vaporization rate chart" then you will find that there is a relationship between the volume of gas, the temperature outside, and the size of the container (Tank) that holds the liquid propane.

a 40lb propane tank would work if the temp is at least 40 degrees F outside and the tank is at least 25% full, then you would be able to meet the vaporization demand to produce 30,000BTU/hr that this unit is capable of.   But with the 100lb container, it can be a little less than 10 degrees F outside and only 10% full and it will still produce well above the demand for this unit.  

A possible solution might be: operate the unit below max capacity (medium or low setting) and you will not exceed the vaporization limit, but then... why not just purchase the smaller unit that produces 18,000BTU/hr instead?  But even that one is suggested to operate with a 100lb propane tank as well.   All that I have said can be found on the internet, simply google "Propane installation regulations"

**Q: Box says 18,000 BTU and 30,000 BTU? Which is it?**
A: The one I ordered and just received 30,000 BTU infrared, propane.  Just verify that you want propane/gas or electric, infrared or blue flame.  I haven't had a chance yet to remove from box, and when purchasing I did read in the comments it was 5 plates but if you look closely at the above picture there are double that.  Same picture on my box.

**Q: I had to run about 30 feet of black pipe to connect my heater to the propane. . Do i have to blead the line each time i change tanks?**
A: You can use an auto switching regulator with two tanks to avoid the need to bleed the line each time.  Just don’t let both tanks go empty at the same time and you’ll be fine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Update. After two years it failed.

Update: The ignition switch broke and I could no longer turn the gas on. Buying a new one. Disappointing. 2022. Surprising powerful. It’s actually outside on my enclosed deck. It made the 20 degree night bearable. My 15x13 tarp and polycarbonate sheet enclosed deck was able to go from 20 to 50 degrees without any additional heat other than this 30000 btu unit. I then cranked on my propane fire pit and some hanging Heatstrip brand heaters to add another 25 to 30 degrees. After an hour it was a toasty 75 to 80 degrees with snow and high winds all around. The heat from this unit goes up more than I expected. Especially with the additional fan added. But it does heat up as designed. Items within 5 feet in front were at 125 degrees. Those items about 10 feet away were around 80 degrees. It is slow to warm the surrounding items. It took about 45 minutes to fully warm the deck up the 30 degrees I mentioned. It does not smell like gas at all and made no noise other than the fan. And the fan is not loud. I could easily hear my tv that was only 7 feet away. It blows air. Not a ton. But it does move air. It’s bigger and thicker than I wanted, but it does the job nicely. And cheap for 30 k btu. I will remove it in the spring. But for now, I like it. It worked as planned.
