Water proof so my dogs can sit in the back after any activity and not ruin my car. When the front seat barrier is set up I don't have to deal with the dogs trying to get into the front seat which is really nice, especially when they are dirty! It is a little slippery so I usually lay down a towel or 2 for my dogs to be more comfortable.
