The brass blade is the way to go. It's soft metal and won't damage your window, but it will scrape ice better than other kinds of scrapers -especially ones with plastic blades, which are just stupid. These are inexpensive and I keep buying them and giving them to people as stocking stuffers at the holidays.One reason I keep buying them, though, is that the handle is not as strong as it needs to be. We seem to break them at some point during the winter. I'd suggest the company look at thickening and lengthening the handle. I'd happily pay three times as much -or more- for a brass bladed scraper that would be easier to hold onto, wouldn't break, would curve a little and would be long enough to reach the center of the windshield. Also, a slightly thicker blade would help: we tend to find the corners of the blade are easily bent if we are not careful.
