The serum is clear and of a moderate thickness. When you use it, you can do it one of two ways. First, you can mix two or three drops into your regular moisturizer, and use it every day. Second, you can use it directly on your skin twice weekly. I've enjoyed applying it directly on my skin a couple of times per week. After cleansing my skin, I apply it onto my skin. After it dries, I've followed it with different moisturizers (one name-brand, another boutique organic). It is incredibly soothing, and keeps my skin from feeling dry (or drying out) all day. When applies directly it feels amazing going on. It glides lover my skin effortlessly and soaks in quickly leaving little trace - no sticky feeling like you get from some serums. I used it the first three times this way a few days apart, but haven't noticed an "intense boost" from direct application. I also tried it for a week, 2 drops mixed with my moisturizer each day. I definitely prefer this method. My moisturizer goes on smoother and I like knowing there's that little bit of something extra in it. I think this collagen serum is really nice, and while I have't seen any miracles in the few weeks I've been using it I enjoy using it because it makes my skin feel great.
