I marked the center of the frame and then the center of the cleat, lined them both up and then attached the cleat to the frame. I only made a tiny hole with my drill in my frame and could easily screw the screws in with a screwdriver to avoid splitting my frame. No need to drive the screws in with a drill. 4. Very easy to level on the wall. I made cut outs of all of my picture frames and hung them on the wall. I marked the center of each frame on the wall and marked the center of the cleat on the cleat. I lined both and then marked the drill marks. Using my level, I made sure the cleat was level as I screwed it to the wall. And very easily hung my picture. It is level! What I don't like Nothing really - I like everything about this system. I do however, I wish it came with a small bubble level.
