Review: Plug and play, it just works! - Bought this to supply power to my secondary Wyze Wi-Fi mesh router. My primary router is on a normal UPS, but the secondary is in a closet where I don’t need a large UPS. Plug your Wi-Fi power into this battery backup and then the supplied power cable from the unit to your Wi-Fi and it works. It charges itself when it needs to and when the power goes out there is no interruption. You can test it by unplugging the power from the wall socket, and the power stays on for the Wi-Fi. It mounts to the wall with one screw (included in box) or you could double side tape or Velcro it.

I just installed them and I have not had a power failure yet, so take that with for what it's worth. I got them for the satellites for my mesh WiFi to keep everything synced up even during a short outage. I have a traditional battery backup for by cable modem, router master, and network switch. These are small so they are great for the satellites which are tucked away. So far so good. Update: Our power was off for 3 hours last night, but our wifi mesh network stayed up for the whole outage. I also experimented and shut off the plug strip to one satellite, no issue, the satellite did not see the outage. So call this a success story

A: Only if you need to power up only 1 device. It comes with just 1 outlet.

A: Mine shows fully charged when I test it. I would guess the unit will last 2 to 3 years.

**Q: Does this unit self protect from over-current on input 12vdc?  i'd like to be able to directly connect to a 12vdc battery**

I added this to the fiber optic receiver in my garage. just needed something to keep the receiver from powering off during outages. this works great. my internet now stays up 100% during power outages (inside router is also on battery backup). very easy to install.
