Review: Thank you NUTRO! - This food has literally saved the life of our 14 year old Dalmatian. Throughout her adult life she had been fed NUTRO Large Breed Dry Dog Food, Lamb and Rice, which is a terrific dog food, and she has always loved it. Over a month ago she started throwing up about an hour or so after eating. What she threw up was the completely intact kibbles. Considering her age, we were sure there was something terribly wrong with her although she was constantly hungry. Before we could get an appointment with the vet, we started feeding her the good old stand-by for sick dogs -- cooked chicken mixed with rice. She liked that, but it wasn't something we could keep her on indefinitely. So we stopped by Pet Club (although we had been purchasing Nutro Large Breed from desertcart) and asked for help from the manager. When we told him her age, he said she should be on the Senior diet. It seems her teeth are no longer able to chew the Large Breed, so she was swallowing the kibbles whole until it reached a point where she wasn't digesting this very hard food. We purchased a 5# bag of the Senior to see if it would make a difference. I gave her one kibble when we got home and she was thrilled to get her old food back (guess it tastes the same as what she was used to) except these are smaller, much less hard and donut-shaped. She crunched it up and looked for more. Of course, we had to start her back gradually and wean her off the chicken and rice. She has been strictly on Senior for the past 3 days and we have our frisky pup back. The 30# bag of Nutro Senior arrived today from desertcart. I hope they keep on carrying it -- so much easier than wrestling such a heavy bag home from the pet store.

This food has literally saved the life of our 14 year old Dalmatian. Throughout her adult life she had been fed NUTRO Large Breed Dry Dog Food, Lamb and Rice, which is a terrific dog food, and she has always loved it.
