Review: The cutters are so so. - This foil cutter is very handsome and weighty, no doubt. But when I tried cutting with it, it just tore the foil. Upon further inspection, I noticed the two rotating cutters were not rotating like they should have. The machine work on the inside was not finished smooth. I had to take it apart and manually sand those areas until they rotated like they should. I don't know if mine missed inspection but it works great now that the rotating cutters are free.

This foil cutter is very handsome and weighty, no doubt. But when I tried cutting with it, it just tore the foil. Thomas McDonald's glowing review convinced me to buy this one and I'm very glad that I did. I even added a magnet as he suggested. The cutter is very well made, more than reasonably priced and is a pleasure to use and a minor joy to behold. Not only does it behave better than cheap (or expensive) plastic ones, it looks a great deal better too. Highly recommended.
