I tried it and upon recording, the monitor would flicker and go dark after a few seconds and the power to camera shut off. If I turn on the monitor again and restart recording the same would happen again. So don't rely on the DC output for BMPCC 4k. **Q: does this work with android smartphones?** A: If you got a dongle or cable that goes from your phone to HDMI (just like you would to connect to a TV), you could use it with a phone.
