I was hesitant to purchase this dress because of the reviews and the flag that it was returned often. I went back and forth about what size to get, XL or XXL. I read one review by someone who is 5'4" and 175 lb, and the fit was great, so I went with XL (I'm 5'6" and 170 lb). I tried it on, and it fit just great. A bit tight at the waist, but that is because I am thick waisted vs. that hourglass figure. It goes to my feet but not the floor, which is great because I would have hated to hem the scalloped lace. It is a lovely dress, looks more expensive than it cost. A bargain, really. I couldn't be happier. It's so beautiful and the price was good. I got burgundy and the color is true to photo. When in my cart it said alert high returned item but only reason I can think is maybe women got the wrong size or didn't like on their body cuz there isn't anything wrong with the dress. It's lovely and well made. I'm normally a med but heavier due to having a baby 3 months ago so I got a large and it fits great. If ur worried it won't fit or want a little looser I'd just get a size larger. I could of prob done either size. I love the lace, it is so flowy and feminine. It was a bit large and very, very long. It would require hemming, but the lace edge is such that it would not look the same if it was cut. The dress is comfortable but you should know that it is a bit sheer, you can see in the pictures that there is a seam down the v-neckline and across the waist, those are open, you can see skin there, but it is not bad if you are ok with it. But you will need to wear white or nude underwear and bra, as the entire dress is thin and a bit see-through. This dress is great for a cute boho look and I would consider it for another occasion if it wasn’t so long. My goal for this photo session was to wear something elegant, timeless and formal…so I chose a different dress. Although I am returning this dress, it was pretty and if you are tall, it might suit your needs.
