Even if the color only lasted a few months, you still got way more than what you paid for. Having said that, I've noticed that in the past couple of years, they've made huge strides in plated jewelry. (I order candles that come with jewelry, I have some that are over 2 years old, and are just as beautiful and expensive looking from the day I opened it.) I've ordered a couple pairs of rose gold earrings, several rings and a bracelet. They all still shine and reflect light beautifully. I wear them frequently and try to remember to take them off at night, but I've forgotten most times, as I've forgotten to take them off before showering and doing dishes. All though they've held up REALLY well, I still recommend to only wear them for the occasion interned. Try to remember to take them off, not shower or, do dishes with them. I'm MUCH more concerned with losing stones than the plating having issues that in turn would cause your finger to turn colors or the ring to become dull and the metal starting to chip. I've not had ANY of these issues. Hope this helps you out.And remember, keep the price in mind when making your decision. Now matter how long they last, it was only $2. The pendant measures approximately 1 ½ inches wide and is in the shape of a butterfly. On each of the sections of the butterfly’s wing there is a crystal. There are six crystals to each side. The different sections of the butterfly’s wing are open and the crystals are either in the middle or the side of the wing. The main sections of the wing have a faux opal two sections in each side. In the center or body of the butterfly are 5 smaller crystals. At the top where the butterfly’s head would be is an open loop that the bail is attached to. The pendant comes with a 28 inch chain. I am not exactly sure what type of chain this is but it reminds me of a popcorn or wheat chain. It appears almost rounded. The chain has a lobster claw clasp. I think this necklace would look very flattering on a nice winter sweater or wear it with your favorite t-shirt. For being fashion jewelry it looks very nice. I like the opal looking stones in the pendant. I think you can wear this with any color you would want to. The only thing I noticed is that there is a small dimple on the bail of mine. But it is not too noticeable so I am ok with it.
