**Q: how long are these?**
A: 7 inchees

**Q: Do the animal toppers function as a spring to help with motion of picking up the food?**
A: The animals are a pliable silicon material - so they do bend and have some springiness to them. So yes - but not quite as much of a spring as a pair intended for that purpose. My kids love them - and they love that they can mix and match to have two different color chopsticks!

**Q: Are these dishwasher safe? The top piece and sticks themselves?**
A: You can remove the sticks from the little animal and I put them in the dishwasher and then I just hand washed a little rubber piece a little animals

**Q: What material are they made of?**
A: I believe the removable animals are silicone and the chopsticks are Melamine. I have no confirmation of this, just my personal observation. We run them through a commercial dishwasher which has water at 195 degrees and they are completely fine.

These were cute and well-made but the fact that the tops of the chopsticks are held together means that you can’t actually use them with normal “chopstick action”. They did make it easier for the kids to keep the chopsticks together and there was less danger of them accidentally/purposely poking one another with them but in terms of teaching kids to properly use them, they were not that helpful.
