The velcro is not strong enough for my thick hair for a real pony tail. The hair that is supposed to wrap around it is also not enough to cover the velcro in its entirety. I had to use more pieces of the pony tail to wrap around the velco than what was connected to it, just to cover.The velcro slides down your pony tail throughout the day and eventually gets unraveled. If you’re embarrassed of someone potentially seeing the velco, this piece is not for you. If you’re like me, and could not care less about it being shown, then you may love this, haha!It is also good for a quick event such as a dinner party. It's sad. After a hard day with a thin sad looking ponytail I ordered this...I should have just stopped. So my thin and fine hair is almost waist length. The problem with this is that there is no real "pocket" in this ponytail thing so my thin fine hair likes to hang below the ponytail thing. Don't ask me to curl it, I have tried. So if there was a REAL pocket that would hold your own fine thin hair it would be better. Then let's go to the fact that it is heavy. It really is. It might start pulling the actual pony tail and then you have a fun problem because you can't get to your real ponytail to tighten it. I am glad it works for some. It might work if you own hair is not long and you want a pretty pony or if your own hair isn't as long as mine and you want to add fullness. The color was a little off for me but it didn't matter too much. I should have sent it back, but I didn't. I am not sure what I am going to do with it. Maybe keep experimenting. Maybe I can put it on the dog occasionally for entertainment purposes. Not sure yet.
