The hoop is heavy 5/8 sold steel bar and there are 4 holes for 3/8" bolts. The base plate is heavy steel and welded to the hoop all around on both sides. The anchor is powder coated gray. **Q: What is the weight capacity of this fitness anchor? Can it be safely used for climbing ropes?** A: I used this mount for trx suspension training. I put it directly into the ceiling in a stud. It has 4 heavy duty lag bolts, so as long as you get all 4 into a stud I think you'll be fine. I weight 240 and there's no budging this. Now I don't 100% hangnor swing on it but its rock solid for what I need. **Q: do you use a drill or a wrench to put in the lag screws?** A: First you will need to drill 4 holes and then bolt the anchor to the wall using the 4 lag bolts.
