Amazon has combined both products, so the reviews and Q&As are mixed up.I’ve been using this cleanser for just about 2 years. I have cystic acne, acne scaring, and combination skin. This wash has been very helpful in improving my skin. I use it with a chemical exfoliant and gel moisturizer (and SPF).The formula doesn’t strip my skin or leave a residue behind, which are major concerns for acne prone skin. It’s gentle enough to use multiple times a day and doesn’t contain common irritants (e.g. fragrance).It doesn’t “fight” acne any more than an ordinary face wash would (it doesn’t contain salicylic acid, benzoylperoxide, or glycolic acid), nor does it moisturize. However, it doesn’t interfere with other products, it doesn’t clog pores, and it’s a good foundation for building a skincare routine.There can be a small learning curve to use. You really have to work the cleanser into a lather with your hands before washing your face. This cleanser works just as well as Purity Made Simple by Philosophy and is about 1/3rd the price! Removes waterproof eye makeup and heavy mascara with ease. Non-irritating formula. Just be sure to get the FOAMING version not the 'creamy cleanser' version. Bought that instead once (the bottles are nearly identical) and that does not work nearly as well for me, at all. Edited to add: this review is for "Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, 12 Ounce" and NOT the "Extra Gentle" cleanser. I'm not sure why this review is appearing under that product as well.
